D&S MANUFACTURING
D&S Manufacturing was in need of new photography for their marketing material and a new website. Their biggest concern was being able to demonstrate the scale of their manufacturing operation and capabilities. The images needed to visually show the massive steel products they are able to produce in their shop complex. Building trust with new and existing customers is paramount and was done by including their highly skilled employees operating some of the most advanced equipment in the metal industry.
I was able to find a composition to visually show the scale of their products by using different angles of perspective. One of the best angles to use in a plant of their size was to gain elevation and compose downward for an aerial view. I used skilled machinists and welders as another great way to demonstrate size comparison against a human element.
Their final concern was finding a photographer that was able to handle the variety of lighting conditions. The lighting conditions included very low light in some areas of the plant to the blinding arcs from the welders and robots cutting and welding steel.
Their new website relies heavily on photos to help guide visitors through the website. The photography visually shows their capabilities in type and size of work they can handle as well as the use of cutting edge technology. It plays a very powerful role building trust with future and existing clients.
